The Illinois State women's tennis team concluded their fall season with notable performances at the Redbird Duals in Bloomington, Illinois. The team secured two wins on the second day of the event, led by junior Lana Caculovic in singles play and the doubles pair of freshman Emma Lindh and graduate student Elena Jankulovska.

Caculovic achieved a perfect 3-0 record in singles over the weekend. In her latest match, she defeated Ornella Lomenzo from Eastern Illinois University with scores of 6-1, 6-2. Meanwhile, Lindh and Jankulovska maintained an undefeated streak in doubles matches, going 2-0. They narrowly triumphed over Omaha's Katelynn Kock and Nina Weise with a score of 6-3.

Head coach Maja Kovacek expressed satisfaction with the team's progress throughout the fall season despite some challenges. "I felt we played great tennis when we were able to get out there. Unfortunately, we struggled with injuries during this tournament. I am encouraged with how we played and the improvements we made over the course of the fall," Kovacek stated.

In other matches, Caculovic paired with Pomarolli for doubles but faced defeats against teams from Omaha and WashU.

Looking ahead, the Redbirds are set to begin their spring season at home on January 26 against Western Illinois Leathernecks.
