Illinois State soccer faced a challenging match against UIC in the MVC Tournament Quarterfinal, ultimately falling 4-2. The game took place at Flames Field on Sunday, with Illinois State entering as the No.7 seed and UIC as the No.3 seed.

The match saw both teams exchanging goals for the first hour, with the score tied at 2-2 until UIC secured victory by scoring two additional goals within five minutes during the final stretch of play. This win allows UIC to progress to the MVC Semi-final.

Eiley Henderson, a freshman from Illinois State, opened the scoring in the 7th minute after capitalizing on a defensive error by UIC. She managed to maneuver into open space inside the box and scored her third goal of the season, giving Illinois State an early lead.

UIC responded with consecutive goals, leveling the score in the 32nd minute just before halftime and taking a lead again in the 49th minute shortly after play resumed.

Illinois State equalized once more when Erika Wells assisted Aniya Seymore on a corner kick in the 61st minute. This marked their second successful corner kick collaboration this season. Wells achieved her fifth assist of the year while Seymore scored her second goal.

Despite gaining momentum from Seymore's goal and earning three corner kicks around the 65th minute, Illinois State was unable to capitalize further. UIC regained control with decisive goals in both the 72nd and 76th minutes, securing their advancement.
