City of Chenoa City Council met Oct. 8.

The Chenoa City Council met in Regular Session at City Hall on October 8, 2024 called to order by Mayor Shane at 6:30 p.m..
The City Clerk was directed to call roll. The Following council members were present: Shane, Pickett, Lopeman, Hernandez and Shipley after being sworn in. The following members of staff were present: Treasurer Rowold and City Clerk Rhoades. Attorney Mann and Chief Cornwall were absent.
Mayor Shane led in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Consent Agenda
Motion by Lopeman, second by Pickett to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 24, 2024 and the Minutes of the Special Meeting of September 30, 2024 and the bills and payrolls be allowed, and orders on the Treasurer be drawn in payment of the same. # 5724 Motion carried by unanimously affirmative vote.
Motion by Pickett, second by Hernandez to approve to Appoint Spencer Shipley as the Water and Sewer Commissioner for the remainder of the term, expiring after the April 2025 election. #5725 Motion carried by unanimously affirmative vote.
The council had no questions or concerns for Fire Chief Troy Aldrich regarding them obtaining a liquor license for their annual cash bash. Motion by Hernandez, second by Pickett to approve a Special Liquor License for the Chenoa Fire Department Cash Bash on Saturday, November 2, 2024. #5726 Motion carried by affirmative votes by Commissioners Lopeman, Hernandez and Pickett with Commissioner Shipley abstaining.
Fire Chief Troy Aldrich informed the council that surrounding departments had discussed today on putting out a burn ban. He said he will be putting out a burn notice tomorrow instead of a ban.

Treasurer: Treasurer Rowold gave a summary of the accounts that have a surplus and deficit. Commissioner:
Commissioner Hernandez said they found where another leak in the pool was. He still doesn't have a quote on what it will take to keep the pool running. Friends of the trail are giving them 32 trees to plant along Route 66. Commissioner Lopeman said the areas marked for the spray patch company and are also back to working on the beaver dam problem. He asked the council if the City or the Eagle Scout should be responsible to pay for their signs or split it. The council agreed the City would pay for one from the Silliman Fund and the Eagle Scout would pay for the other. It was decided that after the year limit of being on Route 24 that they will be placed outside of the scout building. The siding on the house should be coming off this week and the demo will take place after their demo permit is active after the 22nd of this month. Water and sewer needs to be disconnected by the City by the 22nd.
Motion by Lopeman, second by Hernandez that the council do now adjourn. #5727 Motion carried by unanimously affirmative vote. Meeting adjourned at 7:31 p.m..
