The Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) men's and women's swim and dive teams are preparing for two competitive duels at Fort Natatorium this weekend. The first meet is scheduled against DePauw on Friday, November 8, starting at 6 p.m., followed by a face-off with College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin rival Augustana College on Saturday, November 9, beginning at 1 p.m.

Historically, DePauw holds an advantage over IWU, with the Tigers leading the series since the 2008-09 season. The men have a record of 4-0 against IWU, while the women stand at 3-1. The last encounter between these teams was during the 2012-13 season.

In contrast, Augustana recently competed against IWU at the Halloween Invite on October 26. In that event, IWU secured second place for both men's and women's categories while Augustana claimed first in both divisions. Over the past five seasons, Augustana has maintained a strong record of 4-0 against IWU in both men's and women's competitions.

Notable performances from the Halloween Invite include junior Natalie Porter from Danville, Illinois, who finished fourth in the women's 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:36.72. Freshman Jacob Nacional from Bolingbrook, Illinois achieved third place in the men's 200-yard butterfly clocking in at 2:09.68. Freshman diver David Ren from Chicago won first place in the men's 1-meter dive with a score of 145.55, contributing seven points to IWU's total.

Friday's meet is sponsored by Green Dot, a program focused on bystander intervention. Both meets will be live-streamed through IWU Swimming and Diving's official Facebook page with results posted on iwusports.com after each event concludes.
