The Illinois State gymnastics team is preparing for a challenging 2025 season, as announced by head coach Bob Conkling. The schedule includes 13 meets against various top programs nationwide.
"We are excited to build on last season's successes and carry those into this season," said Conkling. "We have a very diverse schedule, which includes meets against a variety of conferences. With competitions against teams from the SEC, MAC, Big10, MIC and others, we feel there will be a lot of strong challenges to help the team build towards the MIC Championships and hopefully into the NCAA postseason."
The Redbirds will start their season on January 3 at Missouri in a quad meet with Ball State and Southeast Missouri State. They will then compete on January 11 at Western Michigan in the Next Level Podium meet alongside WMU, George Washington, and Pitt.
Their third road meet is scheduled for January 17 in Chicago at the Windy City Invite against Fisk and Wisconsin-Stout. On January 24, they will face Northern Illinois before hosting them at Horton Field House on January 28. The month concludes with a conference matchup at Southeast Missouri State on January 31.
February begins with a quad meet at Towson featuring William & Mary and Bowling Green on February 8. A home meet against Greenville follows on February 14 inside CEFCU Arena. The Redbirds then travel to Champaign for a competition against Illinois and Washington on February 22 before returning home for a tri-meet with Centenary and Central Michigan on February 28.
March opens with an away meet at Minnesota on March 8. ISU's final home event is set for March 15 against Southeast Missouri State before heading to Shreveport, Louisiana, for the Midwest Independent Conference Championship hosted by Centenary ahead of the NCAA Regionals starting April 2.
