Illinois State University's men's basketball team has announced the addition of four new recruits for the 2025-26 season. Head coach Ryan Pedon revealed that Nick Allen, Isaac Ericksen, Tyreek Coleman, and Mason Klabo have signed Athletic Financial Aid Agreements to join the Redbirds.
"We are absolutely thrilled about this four-man recruiting class," said Pedon. "All four of these young men fit our program at a high level. Collectively, this group will address some of our roster needs for the 2025-26 season and beyond. They are impressive young men that want to be a part of something special here at Illinois State University."
Nick Allen, a center from Bradley-Bourbonnais High School in Illinois, stands out with his ranking as the top-rated center in the state and 48th nationally. He earned accolades such as Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Class 4A All-State First-Team honors and was named Kankakee Daily Journal Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
"Early on, we identified Nick as a primary target," said Pedon. "Nick is extremely versatile for his size and can affect the game at both ends of the floor."
Isaac Ericksen hails from Green Level High School in North Carolina. The forward is noted for his performance during his junior year where he helped lead his team to a state quarterfinals appearance.
"We began recruiting Issac this past summer," commented Pedon. "His ability to dribble, pass, and shoot at his size is rare."
Tyreek Coleman comes from Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois. He has been recognized as DuPage Valley Conference Player of the Year among other honors.
"Tyreek Coleman is a true gem," stated Pedon. "He will provide our program with a true combination of speed, skill and athleticism."
Mason Klabo joins from Fargo Davies High School where he made significant impacts on both basketball courts and football fields.
"Like our other signees, we feel that Mason is a perfect fit for our program," said Pedon. "He is a versatile guard with a mixture of size, skill, and athleticism."
These new additions reflect Illinois State's strategic efforts to strengthen their basketball roster ahead of future seasons.
