Legislation has been introduced to secure funding for senior nutrition programs, according to a recent announcement. House Bill 5911, proposed by House Republicans, aims to protect financial support for initiatives such as Meals on Wheels. The bill plans to reallocate $25 million from migrant welcoming centers to the Home Delivered Meals Program.

A spokesperson stated, "Like many lawmakers, I have been hearing from seniors throughout my district about the challenges facing the senior nutrition programs that so many local residents use." The spokesperson expressed satisfaction in reporting the filing of this legislation intended to assist these programs.

The bill's co-sponsor expressed pride in supporting this legislative effort. The move is expected to ensure continued delivery of essential services to seniors reliant on these nutrition programs.
