The Illinois Wesleyan University men's basketball team, ranked fourth nationally, is preparing for a non-conference game against the University of Chicago. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, November 27, at 4 p.m. at the Ratner Athletic Center in Chicago.

Illinois Wesleyan boasts an undefeated 5-0 record after securing victories at the Gorlok Classic on November 22 and 23. They defeated Westminster with a score of 82-63 and followed up with a win over Webster, finishing 70-44. Their upcoming opponent, the University of Chicago, has a record of 3-1 after recently defeating Edgewood College by a margin of 77-57.

Fans can access live streams and stats for the game, while Eric Stock and Joel Swanson will provide commentary via radio broadcast. Links to these resources are available on the men's basketball schedule page on IWUsports.com.

Historically, Illinois Wesleyan has dominated its annual meetings with Chicago since 1997—except for the 2020-21 season—holding a series lead of 23-8. The Titans have won their last seven games against the Maroons. The previous loss to Chicago occurred on December 14, 2015.

In their last encounter, Illinois Wesleyan overcame a halftime deficit to secure a victory over Chicago with a final score of 75-69. Harrison Wilmsen contributed significantly with his performance scoring 20 points.

Nick Roper and Harrison Wilmsen were recognized for their performances at the Gorlok Classic All-Tournament team following successful games in St. Louis. Roper averaged notable statistics including points per game while Wilmsen maintained strong rebounding numbers.

The team's defensive efforts have been impressive this season as they restrict opponents to low shooting percentages and maintain one of Division III's top scoring defenses.

Illinois Wesleyan set a program record by achieving seventeen steals during their game against Westminster on November 22, surpassing their previous record from December 29, 2005.

In terms of national rankings within D3hoops.com's Top-25 poll history—Illinois Wesleyan ranks eighth all-time among teams making regular appearances in these polls.

Coach Ron Rose continues his long tenure leading Illinois Wesleyan into another promising season as they look forward to College Conference play following this week's holiday break where they'll face Carthage College next week inside Shirk Center.
