The Missouri Valley Conference has released its track and field preseason poll for the 2024-25 season. The Illinois State women's team is ranked third, accumulating 123 points. They follow Indiana State, which received 140 points and ten first-place votes, and Murray State with 128 points and two first-place votes.
In the men's poll, Illinois State secured a second-place ranking with 85 points. This narrowly surpassed Northern Iowa (UNI), which had 84 points and one first-place vote. Indiana State leads the men's poll with a total of 99 points and nine first-place votes.
Illinois State's track and field program will commence its season by hosting the John Coughlan Invite on December 6-7 at Horton Fieldhouse, starting at 11:30 am.
