Illinois State University has announced the addition of 18 new recruits to its football team as part of the 2025 early signing class. Head coach Brock Spack and his staff revealed the signings on National Signing Day, highlighting a balanced group of players with nine offensive and nine defensive athletes, along with a placekicker.
"We are excited to add this new group of talented student-athletes to our program," said Spack. "Today's additions will help fill some holes in our program and will round out our roster with players that can contribute immediately."
The recruits come from various states, including Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama, and Ohio. Ten of them hail from Illinois. The class includes five defensive backs, four wide receivers, two offensive linemen, two linebackers, a defensive lineman, a quarterback, a tight end, a running back, and another receiver.
Spack emphasized the importance of this initial recruitment phase for the 2025 class: "As always, we will continue to look for more impact players in this next phase as we carry over to the February signing period."
The head coach acknowledged the challenges posed by modern recruiting dynamics: "With the transfer portal being what it is, this process is a constant juggling act."
