Illinois State University's women's basketball team is set to face Marquette University on Sunday at the Al Maguire Center. The game, scheduled for a 2 p.m. tipoff, will be broadcast on FloSports.

This matchup marks the sixth meeting between the Redbirds and the Golden Eagles and the second consecutive season they have faced each other. Last season, Marquette narrowly defeated Illinois State with a 64-62 victory at CEFCU Arena.

Caroline Waite recently delivered an outstanding performance against St. Francis, scoring a career-high 25 points and hitting seven three-pointers. She came close to matching the program record of eight three-pointers set by Taylor Stewart in January 2017 against Missouri State. Waite is now one of only two Redbirds to hit seven threes in a game over the last three seasons, alongside Paige Robinson and Mary Crompton.

In their recent game against St. Francis, Illinois State scored 110 points, marking their 18th performance in program history of achieving 100-plus points. This score set a new record at CEFCU Arena and was the second-highest in program history. Over the last two seasons, Illinois State has reached this milestone three times.

The team's balanced effort was evident as they recorded six double-figure scorers in their win over St. Francis. They have managed four or more double-figure scorers in four consecutive games and seven out of eight games this season. Since the start of the 2023-24 campaign, Illinois State holds an 18-4 record when having four or more players scoring in double figures.
