The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Gridley was held at the Village Hall on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. Susan Laiming opened with a word of prayer.
President Benedict called the meeting to order and directed the Clerk to call roll, and upon roll call, the following Trustees answered present: Michael Finck, Susan Laiming, Kevin Krones, Jay Kiefer and Mick Finck. Quorum present. Absent was Richard Martin. No employees were present.
Jeff asked if there were any corrections or additions to the October meeting minutes. There were none. Susan made a motion to approve the minutes and Jay seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-abstain, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.
Board reviewed the “Bills received by Clerk.” There were no additions. Susan made a motion to approve the bills and Michael seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
Trustees reviewed the Treasurer's report. After discussion, Kevin made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report and Mick seconded. All present answered in favor.
Michael presented the worker’s compensation and liability insurance renewal with IMLRMA. The premium is the same as last year - $34,738.11. After discussion, Michael made a motion to approve the renewal of the insurance. Kevin seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
Michael presented Ordinance #662, Tax Levy Ordinance. There were no changes from the draft. Michael made a motion to pass Ordinance #662. Jay seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
Michael presented Ordinance #663, an Ordinance Abating the Bond Levy. After discussion, Michael made a motion to pass Ordinance #663. Kevin seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
Michael presented Ordinance #664 approving the sale of Lot #22 in Miller’s Rolling Acres Subdivision for $30,000.00. After discussion, Michael made a motion to pass Ordinance #664. Jay seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
Jeff presented a quote for an engineering change order for Miller’s Rolling Acres Phase 2 sewer installation. The change would put the sewer line in the ditch (village right of way) rather than under the road. This would save several thousand dollars in rock for fill. Farnsworth quoted $1900 for the engineering change. After discussion, Kevin made a motion to approve the quote for $1900. Susan seconded. Michael Finck-yea, Laiming yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
Jeff reported that Knobloch Inc. quoted $6500 to install storm sewer and catch basins in alley between Center and Market and between 3rd Street and 4th Street. The quote is assuming no utility interference. If utility interference is found, the work will be time and material. Susan made a motion to approve the Storm sewer work by Knobloch, Inc. Jay seconded the motion. Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
Mick made a motion to adjourn. Jay seconded. Michael Finck-yea, Laiming-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
