A total of 22 student-athletes from Illinois State University are set to receive their degrees this Saturday, marking the culmination of their academic efforts during the Fall 2024 semester. The graduating athletes represent seven different athletic programs within the university.
The winter commencement ceremonies will be held at CEFCU Arena on December 14, with two sessions scheduled. The morning session at 9 a.m. will feature graduates from the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, Mennonite College of Nursing, and Interdisciplinary Studies. The afternoon session at 1 p.m. will include graduates from the College of Applied Science and Technology, College of Business, and Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts.
The list of student-athletes expected to graduate includes:
From the football team: Amir Abdullah, Micah Barnhart, Braden Contreras, Peyton Cramer, Jalan Gaines, Keondre Jackson, Mason Kaplan, Jake Pope, Jake Siegal, and Hunter Zambrano.
In women's golf: Michaela Kverkova is expected to graduate.
Representing gymnastics: Carly Hawksworth and J'Chelle Heard are among those earning degrees.
Men's track and field will see Amiri Buchanan, Mathis Chavand, Tyler Polak, and Brandon Ratliff graduating.
Women's track and field has Macy Byer and Sa'Mone Winters completing their studies.
From the soccer team: Katherine Ashley and Audrey Brown are slated for graduation.
Lastly, in softball: Jayden Standish is also on the list to receive her degree.
