Illinois State University's women's basketball team secured a decisive 79-55 victory over Evansville, marking their second consecutive win. The game took place at CEFCU Arena, where senior Caroline Waite achieved a personal milestone by surpassing 1,000 career points. Waite led the team with 14 points and successfully hit four three-pointers.

Nevaeh Thomas contributed significantly to the Redbirds' success with her fifth double-double of the season, scoring 11 points and securing 10 rebounds. Doneelah Washington also played a key role with 10 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks. Shannon Dowell and Elyce Knudsen maintained their streaks of reaching double figures in scoring for consecutive games.

The Redbirds dominated early in the first quarter with a lead of 19-5, which they extended to as many as 36 points in the second half. Illinois State's performance included contributions from nine different players registering on the scoreboard.

Throughout this season, Illinois State has consistently had multiple players score in double figures across their games. Their record improves when four or more players achieve this feat since the start of the previous campaign.

Washington's defensive efforts were highlighted by her block total leading all MVC players since league play began. The Redbirds recorded a season-high eight blocks against Evansville.

This victory marks Illinois State's 15th consecutive win against Evansville, maintaining their longest-active winning streak against a current Valley opponent. The team also excelled in rebounding, grabbing over 40 boards for the fourth time in five games and outperforming their opponents on rebounds for eight out of ten recent games.
