The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Show, sponsored by The O'Brien Auto Team, will broadcast live from Rob Dob's Restaurant and Bar in Bloomington tonight. The show will feature Illinois State head men's basketball coach Ryan Pedon and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie.
Fans who cannot attend the event can tune in to WJBC 1230 AM, the Varsity Network, or GoRedbirds.com. During the show, coaches Pedon and Gillespie will review last week's games and discuss upcoming Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) matchups.
Kristen Gillespie's segment, hosted by Greg Halbleib, begins at 6 p.m. She will be accompanied by senior guard Caroline Waite, who recently surpassed 1,000 career points during a victory over Evansville. Waite led with a game-high 14 points in that win.
The Redbirds women’s team currently holds an 8-6 record overall and is unbeaten in the new year after recent home victories against Indiana State and Evansville. Sophomore Nevaeh Thomas played a key role with double-doubles in both games.
Ryan Pedon's segment starts at 6:45 p.m., hosted by John Fitzgerald and Mike Matthews. Freshman Cade Norris will join Pedon this week. Norris has appeared in nine games this season for Illinois State.
The Redbird men’s team stands at 10-5 overall after recent wins over Murray State and Southern Illinois. Sophomore Johnny Kinziger contributed significantly to these victories.
Monday's show is open to fans attending live at Rob Dob's. It will also be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM, the Varsity Network, and the Illinois State Athletics Facebook page for those unable to attend.
The weekly schedule for the coaches' show includes various dates at Rob Dob's and Avanti's through March.
