State Representative Dennis Tipsword was sworn in for a second term as part of Illinois' 104th General Assembly. Representing the 105th District, which covers parts of Livingston, McLean, Putnam, Marshall, Bureau, LaSalle, Tazewell, Peoria, and Woodford counties, Rep. Tipsword expressed his commitment to serving his constituents.

"I am honored to be able to represent residents in the 105th District for two more years," said Rep. Tipsword. "I will continue to be your voice in Springfield not as a politician but as a citizen legislator, former small business owner, and active law enforcement officer with the right experience to advocate for common sense policies."

A resident of Woodford County with over three decades in law enforcement, Rep. Tipsword lives in Metamora with his wife Betsy. They have three children and eight grandchildren. During his first term, he focused on public safety and economic prosperity and plans to continue advocating for beneficial policies for District 105.

"As a member of six committees in the House," Rep. Tipsword stated, "I have worked to help make significant progress in several areas including professional licensing and returning unclaimed property and money to their rightful owners." He also emphasized his dedication to protecting gun owners' rights and opposing policies like the SAFE-T Act.

Rep. Tipsword highlighted ongoing challenges such as balancing a budget facing a large deficit and reversing policies that have led businesses and families out of Illinois. "We have so much more work to do," he concluded.
