Earlier this week, Representative Tipsword was sworn into office for a second term in the Illinois House of Representatives. He expressed eagerness to continue serving the residents of the 105th District and advocating for common-sense policies.

The legislative process in Illinois involves voting on procedural rules that govern the House for two years. These rules were drafted by the Democrat supermajority without input from Republicans. "House Republicans did propose reasonable changes that would increase accountability and transparency, however, the proposal was rejected by the supermajority."

In energy matters, Rep. Tipsword noted that many working families face high costs during colder months. He suggested homeowners could reduce their heating costs through simple practices.

Economically, he criticized Illinois Democrats for pushing a progressive tax system despite a projected $3.2 billion budget deficit next fiscal year. "As Illinois politicians keep pushing progressive tax schemes, other states keep dumping them."

Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was celebrated recently, acknowledging those who serve in law enforcement. Rep. Tipsword is among three Illinois House Republicans with law enforcement experience.

Around District 105, Feeding Illinois' Grain for Good Program delivered 3,000 pounds of ground pork to Open Arms Food Pantry in Metamora last week. This initiative involved local farmers and processors to support community needs.

Rep. Tipsword thanked Senator Tom Bennett for his service and expressed enthusiasm to work with newly-elected Senator Chris Balkema.
