The Illinois State University (ISU) men's basketball team is preparing to face the Northern Iowa Panthers on Saturday, January 11, at CEFCU Arena in Normal, Illinois. The game is set for a 6 p.m. tip-off and will be broadcast on The Valley on ESPN.

Illinois State has shown significant improvement this season, climbing 328 position rankings and currently ranking 11th nationally in three-point field goal percentage. Guard Landon Wolf previously played for Northern Iowa and was high school teammates with several current Panthers players. ISU's Johnny Kinziger also shares a past with UNI's Will Hornseth from their time at De Pere High School.

Caden Boser of Illinois State is nearing a career milestone, needing just four points to reach 1,000 collegiate points. Freshman Jack Daugherty has made notable contributions with his three-point shooting prowess.

Northern Iowa enters the game looking to recover from recent losses against Valparaiso and Murray State. Tytan Anderson leads the Panthers with an average of 14.7 points per game.

The Redbirds have been recognized for their strong shooting statistics across various categories this season. They are one of only three NCAA Division I teams ranked within the top-35 in field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage, and free throw percentage.

In addition to individual achievements and upcoming matchups, ISU boasts a promising recruiting class ranked 60th nationally by 247sports.com.
