The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swim and dive teams are set to compete against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana. The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 11, with the dual starting at 1 p.m. ET at the Rose-Hulman Natatorium.
In their last competition of 2024, held at the Carthage Classic from December 5-7, junior Natalie Porter from Danville, Illinois placed second in the women's 1650-yard freestyle. She improved her time by 22.32 seconds this season to finish in 18:22.90. The women's team accumulated a total of 312 points while the men's team earned 143 points, placing sixth and seventh respectively.
Rose-Hulman's most recent competition was at the Wooster Classic in Ohio from December 5-7. The Engineers secured first place on the men's side and sixth place for the women. Before facing Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU), Rose-Hulman will compete against Division I Valparaiso University on Friday, January 10.
The IWU Titans and RHIT Engineers have a longstanding rivalry dating back to the 2008 season. The IWU women's team has maintained a perfect record of 13-0 against Rose-Hulman, whereas the men's team trails with a record of 0-12. In last year's meeting, Kayleigh Kuschewski excelled by winning all three events she participated in: the 100-yard breaststroke, 200-yard backstroke, and 200-yard individual medley.
