Illinois State Swimming dominates Quincy with strong performances on Senior Day

Illinois State Swimming secured a decisive victory over Quincy on Senior Day, winning 12 out of 14 events and finishing with a score of 174-80. The Redbird seniors, Lauren Wisdom, Emma Feltzer, Sydney Hoff, and Mia Snow, contributed significantly by winning six events.

In the relay competitions, the team of Chloe Tyler, Hoff, Snow, and Feltzer led in the 200-yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:46.21. Another relay win came from Hoff, Wisdom, Ella Glaspie, and Lauren Hervey in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a finish of 1:38.50.

Individually, Wisdom won both the 1000-yard freestyle (10:55.24) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:22.17). Tyler claimed first place in the 100-yard backstroke at 58.20 seconds. Hoff achieved victories in both the 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.81) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.37). Junior Giulia Basco took first place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 57.72 seconds. Snow won the 50-yard freestyle event at 24.18 seconds while Feltzer recorded a title in the 100-yard freestyle (53.39). Freshman Avery Watson rounded out their performance by taking first place in the 200-yard IM with a final time of 2:19.12.

The Redbirds are set to travel to Cedar Rapids for a two-day meet against Missouri Valley Conference opponent UNI on January 17th and January 18th.
