The Illinois State Track & Field program is set to host the annual Coughlan-Malloy Cup on Friday at Horton Field House, beginning at 10:00 a.m. The event marks the second meet of the season for Illinois State.

Fans attending the event will receive giveaways, with the first 50 arrivals getting free t-shirts courtesy of Illinois State Athletics. Additionally, all attendees can collect a free set of pom poms while supplies last.

This competition follows a month-long break since the Redbirds' previous meet, the John Coughlan Invite, which started their 2024-25 season in early December. During that event, Illinois State secured a total of 15 event wins—seven by the women's team and eight by the men's team.

In addition to these victories, six athletes from Illinois State entered the program's top-10 lists for their respective events. Notably, senior Windsor Roberts set a new record at Horton Field House with her winning pole vault of 3.90m (12-9.5).

As they prepare for Friday's contest against Indiana State, Illinois State aims to reclaim victory after losing last year's traveling trophy competition to Indiana State. The Redbirds had previously maintained a five-year winning streak before it was ended by the Sycamores.
