Illinois Wesleyan finishes first tournament at ISBPA/Kegel Collegiate

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's bowling team concluded its first tournament of the year over the weekend, participating in the ISBPA/Kegel Collegiate event at Stardust Lanes in Addison, Illinois. The team finished 39th overall.

Junior Kiera Hendersen from Silvis, Illinois, was the top performer for Illinois Wesleyan, finishing 110th individually. Her first game produced a high score of 206 pins, contributing to her total pinfall of 853 after five games. Emily Newbauer from Vertibo led the women's bracket with a score of 1114.

Freshman Neveah Porter from Appleton, Wisconsin, followed Hendersen by placing 219th overall with a total pinfall of 526 and a game high of 112. Another freshman, Sapphire Bankston-Hunter from North Chicago, Illinois, took 228th place with a total pinfall of 509 and a personal best game high of 121.

Sophomore Joanna Steven from Chicago recorded her personal best with a fourth-game pinfall of 123 and an overall total of 484 across five games. Sophomore Bella Horvath from Glenview placed 251st with a total pinfall of 396 and her highest single-game score being 92.

On Sunday, the team participated in a series of baker matches totaling sixteen rounds. The Titans ended up with an overall score of 4519 pins which secured their position at 39th place. Mount Mercy University claimed victory in the tournament by accumulating an impressive total of 8003 pins.

The women's bowling team is set to compete again on February 15-16 at the Viking Classic in Milan, Illinois.
