The Missouri Valley Conference has announced its Athlete of the Week selections. Sophomore Immaculate Daniel from Illinois State University was recognized as the MVC's Female Track Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Coughlan-Malloy Cup. Daniel set a new Illinois State record in the 60m dash with a time of 7.26 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 7.33 seconds held by D'Jenne Egharevba for over six years.
Daniel's achievement not only stands as the fastest time in the Missouri Valley Conference and Midwest Region but also ties for tenth place in the NCAA Division I rankings.
This accolade makes Daniel the fifth Redbird to receive Athlete of the Week honors this season. She joins Junior Lindsey Miller as one of two Illinois State sprinters to be named Female Track Athlete of the Week.
