Senior Eva Reyes has been recognized as the Diver of the Week by the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) following her impressive performance at a recent meet against UNI. This marks the third time this season that Reyes has received this honor, having previously been acknowledged after meets against Ohio and Saint Louis.
Reyes achieved a personal best on the first day at UNI, securing the 3-meter diving title with a score of 290.85. She went on to break a Glen F. Henry Pool record on the second day with a score of 301.80.
Looking ahead, Reyes is set to participate in the UIC Diving Invite on February 8 before competing in the MVC Championships in Waukee, Iowa, from February 26 to March 1. Following these events, she will attend the NCAA Zones Diving Championship hosted by Ohio State University from March 10-12.
During her tenure at Illinois State, Reyes has been honored as MVC Diver of the Year both as a freshman and sophomore. Last season, she became only the second diver in program history and third in conference history to win three consecutive 1-meter titles.
In the 2023-24 season, Reyes was named MVC Diver of the Week twice for her outstanding performances against Eastern Illinois on October 6 and Ohio on October 14.
Hailing from Tijuana, Mexico, Reyes was also named to the 2024 MVC Scholar Athlete Team and selected for the CSCAA Scholar All-American Team as a sophomore in 2023.
