Illinois State women's golf secures second at Sea Best Intercollegiate

The Illinois State women's golf team began their spring season with a commendable performance, securing second place at the Sea Best Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Florida. Jinyoung Yun led the team with a notable third-place individual finish, scoring 212 over three rounds.

The team's collective score of 860 marks the third-lowest in the program's history, trailing only behind scores of 849 from previous tournaments. The competition saw Illinois State finishing just behind 26th ranked Florida, who achieved an 857. Other top contenders included Coastal Carolina (867), South Alabama (871), and Jacksonville (873).

Yun's performance was significant as her score ties for the eighth-lowest in school history. Her consecutive rounds of 69 are tied for the tenth-lowest single-round scores recorded by Illinois State.

Freshman Jessica Jolly also made an impact with a three-round total of 215, placing ninth overall. This score is tied for the twelfth-lowest in school history and ranks as one of the best by a freshman.

Lory Paradis concluded her tournament with a total score of 217, tying for thirteenth place overall and matching her career-best. Elise Fennell followed closely with a score of 218, placing nineteenth individually. Morgan Jones finished twenty-sixth with a score of 222.

Looking ahead, the team will return to Florida to compete in the Columbia Classic on February 8-9 in Melbourne.
