Illinois Wesleyan tops CCIW men's lacrosse preseason poll

The Illinois Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team has been projected to win its sixth consecutive College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) regular season title. This prediction comes from the annual preseason coaches poll released on January 31st.

The Titans received five first-place votes, amassing a total of 25 points to lead the preseason poll. Elmhurst secured the second position with one first-place vote and 21 points. Carthage and North Central shared third place, each garnering 15 points. Carroll and Augustana were placed fifth and sixth with nine and five points respectively.

In the previous year, Illinois Wesleyan achieved a flawless conference record (5-0), securing their seventh CCIW Regular Season Championship along with their sixth CCIW Tournament victory. They also marked their sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Returning for Illinois Wesleyan are three First Team All-CCIW players: Gage Black, Colin Tervo, and Sam Skelton, alongside Second Team honorees Sam Weinberg and Noah Dretzka.

Under the guidance of head coach Zach Iannucci, the team will commence their 2025 season at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tennessee on February 15th-16th.
