Illinois Wesleyan swim and dive teams earn CSCAA academic honors

The Illinois Wesleyan University Swim and Dive teams have been recognized by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for their academic achievements. The teams were included in the Team Scholar All-America lists, announced on February 3.

The CSCAA honored 781 teams from 489 institutions across various divisions, including Division I and NAIA, as Scholar All-America Teams for the fall semester of 2024. To qualify, each team needed to achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 during the fall semester.

Leading all divisions in team GPA was the WashU men's team with a GPA of 3.83, while Oberlin College's women's team ranked first among Division III women with a GPA of 3.82.

For Illinois Wesleyan's women's team, they were one of 175 Division III teams recognized, having achieved a team GPA of 3.18 with 13 members. Other College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) teams making the list included Augustana with a GPA of 3.57, Carthage at 3.37, Millikin at 3.16, and Wheaton with an impressive GPA of 3.71.

On the men's side, Illinois Wesleyan was one of 153 Division III teams earning this distinction with a team GPA of 3.27 across seven members. Other CCIW schools on the list included Augustana at a GPA of 3.4, Carthage and Wheaton both achieving GPAs of 3.35, and Carroll with a GPA of 3.01.

The Titans are set to compete next in the CCIW Championships scheduled for February 19-22 in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
