Four Illinois State University softball players have been named to the 2025 preseason All-Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Team. Seniors Delainey Bryant and Bella Wilkerson, along with sophomores Adisyn Hopkins and Paige McLeod, were recognized for their performance. The Redbirds are ranked fourth in the MVC preseason poll, as determined by the league's head coaches.

Belmont follows closely in second place with 125 points and three first-place votes, while UNI ranks third with 121 points and four first-place votes. Illinois State received 115 points, placing them fourth.

Murray State (58 points), UIC (53 points and one first-place vote), Evansville (44 points), Indiana State (35 points), and Valparaiso (13 points) complete the poll rankings.

Delainey Bryant had a strong performance last season, starting all 54 games at second base. She earned All-MVC First Team honors with career-high stats in hits and led her team in several categories including home runs and RBI.

Bella Wilkerson also made an impact playing catcher for the Redbirds last year. She was named to the All-MVC First Team for her achievements both offensively and defensively.

Adisyn Hopkins excelled during her freshman year, leading her team with a .347 batting average at the DP/Utility spot. Her contributions earned her a place on the All-MVC First Team.

Paige McLeod had a notable freshman season as well, earning All-MVC Second Team honors as a pitcher. She achieved two no-hitters and maintained a strong ERA over numerous innings pitched.

The Redbirds will begin their season at the USF-Rawlings Invitational in Tampa, Florida on February 6th against Delaware. The tournament will also feature games against South Florida, Georgia Southern, Florida, and Michigan from February 6-8.
