Illinois State University gymnasts Mya Robinson and Jaye Mack have been recognized with Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) weekly honors. The seniors played key roles in the Redbirds' dual-meet victories against Northern Illinois University (NIU) and Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO).
Robinson achieved two all-around wins during the week. On Tuesday, she recorded a career-best score of 9.850 on floor, contributing to her all-around total of 38.825, leading the team to victory over NIU. Later in the week, Robinson scored 38.575 at SEMO, securing another all-around win by finishing second on vault.
Mack's performances were equally notable, as she secured top positions in five out of six events across both meets. Her standout moment came on Friday at SEMO with a personal-best vault score of 9.925, marking the highest individual score for any MIC gymnast this year.
The Redbirds will compete next at a quad meet in Maryland against Towson University, William & Mary College, and Bowling Green State University on February 8.
