The Illinois State Diving team is set to compete in Chicago at the UIC Diving Invite on Saturday, February 8. The event will take place at Flames Natatorium and is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

The Redbirds have not participated in any competitions since their meet against UNI on January 18 in Cedar Falls. During that competition, Eva Reyes stood out by breaking a facility record in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 301.80.

In the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), Illinois State has four divers ranked among the top five for the 1-meter diving event. Eva Reyes leads with a score of 283.65, followed by Selena Corona and Emma Thompson, both scoring 229.35, and Isabel Poggenklass with 180.15.

For the 3-meter board event, Reyes again leads with a score of 261.38, while Corona, Thompson, and Poggenklass follow closely behind. In Platform Diving within the MVC, Reyes ranks second with a score of 184.30, and Corona holds third place with a score of 160.70.

Senior diver Eva Reyes has been recognized as Diver of the Week three times this season in the MVC. Her latest recognition came after competing against UNI on January 22, where she achieved her lifetime best in the 3-meter diving category with a score of 290.85 and set a new pool record on day two.

Academically, the Redbirds were acknowledged as part of the CSCAA Fall Scholar All-America Team with an overall GPA of 3.63 for ISU's swimming and diving team members.

UIC recently competed against Missouri State but was defeated by a margin of 251.5-98.5. Junior Kerry-Leigh Morrison from UIC performed notably well in diving events during that meet.

Ashley Dell is currently serving her third season as head coach for UIC's men's and women's diving programs.
