The Illinois State women's tennis team faced a setback in their match against Fordham University, losing 4-0 at the Cary Leeds Center in New York. This result leaves Illinois State with a record of 3-3, while Fordham improves to 3-1.

Illinois State is scheduled to play again tomorrow when they travel to Queens, New York, to compete against Saint John's Red Storm inside the USTA National Tennis Center at 6:15 p.m.

In doubles play, Fordham's Kolarevic and Nguyen defeated Illinois State's Lana Caculovic and Silvia Pomarolli with a score of 6-1. The pair Bergmann and Chitambar from Fordham won against Emma Lindh and Elena Jankulovska from Illinois State by 6-2. The match between Dalmonico/Siem (Fordham) and Nuria Sanz/Nicole Iosio (Illinois State) was left unfinished at 4-4.

For singles matches, Nguyen from Fordham beat Lana Caculovic of Illinois State with scores of 6-3, 6-3. Bergmann's match against Silvia Pomarolli was not finished but stood at 6-7 (4), 2-2. Dalmonico secured another win for Fordham over Emma Lindh with scores of 6-4, 6-2. Chitambar's game against Nuria Sanz was ongoing with scores at 6-7(6), 3-2. Matsunga versus Elena Jankulovska also remained unfinished at scores of 2-6, 6-2, and a tie-breaker point of 1-1. Finally, Padilla triumphed over Nicole Iosio with scores of 7-5, 6-2.
