Illinois State track & field concludes Keck Select Invitational with multiple wins

The Illinois State track and field team wrapped up their participation in the Keck Select Invitational on Saturday at the Shirk Center in Bloomington, Illinois. The event saw several athletes from the program achieving significant milestones.

Freshman Braeden Brown finished the heptathlon with 4,625 points, earning a spot on the program's top-10 list for this event. Brown is now the second heptathlon athlete to enter this list this season, joining teammate Sophomore Ryan Schaefer.

Junior Karlie Stauder also made it onto the program's top-10 list for women's pole vault by clearing a height of 3.71 meters (12 feet, 2 inches), tying for ninth place in program history.

Sophomore Jacob Klink joined the men's shot put top-10 list with a throw measuring 17.05 meters (55 feet, 11.25 inches), placing him eighth all-time in program history.

In other events, Senior Darcis Bitangalo won the men's long jump with a mark of 7.18 meters (23 feet, 6.75 inches). On the women's side, Sophomore Megan Clark secured victory with a jump of 5.45 meters (17 feet, 10.75 inches).

Freshman Luke Barham claimed first place in the men's mile with a personal-best time of 4:19.67. Freshman Reece Curtis achieved victory in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.26 seconds.

Junior Macee Rivers won the women's 60-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 8.75 seconds.

The Redbirds' next competition will be at the Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tennessee, starting on Friday, February 14th.
