Illinois State leads women's golf tournament in Florida

The Illinois State women's golf team has maintained its lead at the 2025 Columbia Classic, held at Duran Golf Club in Viera, Florida. The Redbirds secured their position atop the leaderboard through two rounds of play.

Graduate student-athlete Jinyoung Yun is leading individually with a 36-hole score of 140, which places her two strokes ahead of the nearest competitor. Yun's performance includes rounds of one-under 71 and three-under 69, making her the only player under par for both rounds.

The team's scores of 288 and 294 give them a total of 582, just ahead of Princeton's second-place score of 584. Seton Hall (594), Penn (597), and Dartmouth (599) complete the top five teams after two rounds. Other participating schools include Boston University (604), Marshall (607), Emory (608), Columbia (609), Quinnipiac (613), Youngstown State (617), and Duquesne (643).

In individual standings, Morgan Jones holds 10th place with rounds of 72 and 74 for a total of 146. Jessica Jolly scored a two-under-par round of 70 followed by a round of 78, tying her for 12th with a total score of 148. Elise Fennell improved from an opening round four-over-par to a second-round two-over-par, totaling a score of 150 and tying for 19th overall. Lory Paradis stands tied for 28th with rounds of 75 and 77 totaling to a score of 152.

The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m., where Illinois State will compete alongside Princeton and Seton Hall in pursuit of their third title this season.
