Illinois State University's men's basketball team faced a narrow defeat against Northern Iowa, losing 68-65 in Cedar Falls. The Redbirds were led by sophomore guard Johnny Kinziger, who scored 16 points and tied his career-high with nine rebounds. Caden Boser contributed 10 points off the bench.

Despite leading by seven points with just over three minutes remaining, Illinois State was unable to maintain their advantage as Northern Iowa closed the game with a decisive run. Illinois State will next face Drake Bulldogs at home on February 12th at CEFCU Arena.
