Illinois State men's tennis team prepares for upcoming matches

The Illinois State men's tennis team is scheduled for an away game against Northwestern in Evanston, Illinois, on Saturday. The team will then host Western Michigan at the Evergreen Racquet Club on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

In their last matches, the Redbirds faced New Mexico State and Tulsa, resulting in losses of 4-3 and 5-2 respectively. Against New Mexico State, Tomas Valencia secured a victory over Itay Feigin with scores of 7-6, 6-3. Tin Ostro defeated Matias Rojas in a tiebreaker with scores of 6-2, 7-6 (3), while Jett Leong won against Patrick Lohmann with scores of 6-4 and 6-3. Against Tulsa, Ostro claimed another win by defeating Connor Doig with scores of 7-6 (3), 4-6, and 10-4. Christian Capacci won his match against Nikola Puntaric with straight sets of 6-1, 6-4.

Northwestern recently lost to Clemson by a score of 4-0. Carter Pate achieved his first Division I singles win during this match. In doubles play, Greyson Casey and Felix Norby secured a set win at the No.1 position.

Western Michigan recently beat Drake with a score of 4-1. Jack Davison and Brogan Pierce succeeded in their doubles match against Ben Johnson and Will Ecklund from Drake. Anton Arzhankin clinched a singles victory after three sets against Johnson.

Illinois State's next games include traveling to Madison to face the University of Wisconsin-Madison on February 19 and continuing to Lafayette for a match against Purdue on February 23.
