Illinois State juniors Lana Caculovic and Silvia Pomarolli have been recognized as the Missouri Valley Conference doubles players of the week. Their achievement follows a victory at Butler University, where they contributed to a 4-1 win for the Redbirds.
The duo secured a win in the No. 1 doubles position with a 6-3 score against Brooke Arington and Chase Metcalf from the Butler Bulldogs. Caculovic and Pomarolli have won three of their last four matches this spring, including victories over Butler, Marquette, and UIS.
The team is scheduled to travel to Huntington, West Virginia, this weekend. They will compete in two matches: on Friday against the Marshall Thundering Herd and on Saturday against Radford University's Highlanders.
