Illinois State University celebrated a significant victory over Greenville, with the team achieving a score of 195.275, marking their third-highest score this season. Contributing to this success were senior Sara Wabi and junior Jaly Jones, who both received Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) weekly awards.

Sara Wabi earned the title of MIC Gymnast of the Week for the first time in her career. She excelled in her debut all-around performance, securing the top spot with a career-high score of 38.500 during Illinois State's dual-meet win against Greenville. Wabi's standout moment was on bars, where she tied for first place with a score of 9.850. She also secured fourth place finishes on vault and floor.

Jaly Jones, a transfer from Lindenwood, continued her strong performances for the Redbirds by earning second place on beam with a score of 9.825 and seventh place on floor with a 9.700.

The Redbirds are set to compete against Illinois and Washington in Champaign on Friday, February 22, at 1 p.m.
