The Illinois State men's tennis team faced a challenging match against the Wisconsin Badgers, resulting in a 7-0 defeat at Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Redbirds were unable to secure victories in both singles and doubles play during this non-conference matchup.
In doubles action, the Wisconsin pairs dominated with Olsson and Zlatohlavek defeating Tomas Valencia and Adrian Dibildox 6-3. Minasyan and Meszaros secured a win over Christian Capacci and Tom Bevan with the same score of 6-3. Aubert and Fullerton completed the sweep by overcoming Tin Ostro and Caden Scarlett 6-4.
The singles matches followed a similar pattern. Minasyan defeated Tomas Valencia, while Zlatohlavek won against Adrian Dibildox. Meszaros overcame Tin Ostro, Fullerton bested Christian Capacci, Aubert triumphed over Caden Scarlett, and Kumar defeated Finn Logue.
Looking ahead, Illinois State will travel to Lafayette, Indiana to face Big Ten Purdue on Sunday at the Schwartz Tennis Center.
