Illinois State University's junior golfer, TJ Barger, has been recognized as the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Golfer of the Week. This accolade follows his performance at the Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas.
This marks Barger's third MVC Golfer of the Week award this season, with previous honors received on September 5 and October 3. During the Border Olympics, Barger completed rounds of 74, 74, and 72 on a par-71 course. He finished tied for 27th in a competitive field while the Redbirds team secured a tie for 14th place overall.
Barger currently leads his team with an average score of 73.4 strokes per round this season. Notably, five of his rounds have been at or below par.
The Redbirds will compete again on Sunday, February 23 at the Dorado Beach Collegiate in Dorado, Puerto Rico.
