Illinois Wesleyan men's basketball earns three all-conference picks

Three seniors from Illinois Wesleyan University's men's basketball team have been recognized on the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) teams, announced on February 24. The team tied for the most selections in the conference.

Senior Nick Roper from St. Louis, Missouri, was a unanimous First Team All-CCIW selection. He was joined by Hakim Williams from Round Lake, Illinois, on the first team. Senior Harrison Wilmsen from St. Louis received Second Team All-CCIW status. Freshman Josh Fridman from Northbrook, Illinois, was voted CCIW First-Year Student Athlete of the Year. Senior Trey Bazzell from Fairbury, Illinois, was named IWU's CCIW RESPECT Award selection.

Roper earned First Team All-CCIW status for the second consecutive season with an average of 17 points per game and 6.1 rebounds per game. He also received CCIW Player of the Week honors once during the year.

Williams secured All-CCIW honors for the second time in his career by moving up to the First Team after receiving Second Team accolades in 2024. He averaged 11.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.6 steals, and one block per game.

Wilmsen repeated as a Second Team All-CCIW pick with an average of 10.4 points per game and added 5.4 boards per game.

Fridman became the second Titan to receive CCIW Newcomer of the Year since its inception in 2013 with an average of 9.1 points per game and leading the conference in free throw percentage at 95.6%.

The Titans will play in Kenosha, Wisconsin for the CCIW Tournament semifinals on February 28 against top-seeded Carthage.
