Illinois State hosts gymnastics quad meet featuring Bowling Green, Centenary, Central Michigan

Illinois State University is set to host a gymnastics quad meet at Horton Field House on Friday night. The event will feature teams from Illinois State, Bowling Green, Centenary, and Central Michigan. This will be the third of four home meets for the Redbirds this season and the second at Horton Field House.

Admission to the meet is free, and fans unable to attend can follow live stats via Virtius or watch a live stream on the Illinois State Athletics YouTube page. Links are available on the Redbird Gymnastics schedule page at GoRedbirds.com.

ISU Head Coach Bob Conkling expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming event: "The team has been looking great this week in workouts. We are looking forward to another home meet, especially with it being a quad meet which are always very exciting for fans to watch. We hope to see everyone come out to support this very talented team and watch some great gymnastics inside Horton Field House on Friday night."

Illinois State currently ranks No. 38 in Road To National rankings with strong performances in floor and vault events. In their last competition against Big Ten Conference teams Illinois and Washington, they placed third with a score of 194.775. Senior Mya Robinson excelled by securing first place on vault with a score of 9.875.

Bowling Green holds No. 62 in national rankings, with Megan Bingham winning all-around and Kayla Shaw taking first place on floor during their recent match against Temple despite losing overall.

Centenary ranks No. 84 nationally after achieving a season-high score of 189.00 last Saturday against TWU, where Junior Claire Flores earned recognition for her performance on bars.

Central Michigan stands at No. 36 in national rankings after narrowly losing their first Mid-American Conference match of the season against Kent State last Sunday.
