Jinyoung Yun has been recognized as the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week, marking her third time this season and sixth in her career receiving this honor. Yun secured this accolade following a second-place finish at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational.

During the tournament, Yun achieved scores of 71, 69, and 72, culminating in a total score of 212. This score is tied for the eighth-best in program history, with Yun holding half of the top-10 scores. Her round of 69 ranks as the 11th-lowest tournament score in school history.

Yun's current season scoring average stands at 71.5, surpassing her own previous school record set last season at 72.6. She has recorded 13 rounds at or under par this season, trailing only her previous record of 14 rounds from last year.

In just two seasons, Yun has matched the school record for career rounds at or under par with 27, sharing this achievement with former teammate Ali Schrock. Her career scoring average of 72.1 is significantly better than the existing school record held by Avalon Woodward (75.8).

With six career Golfer of the Week honors, Yun ranks seventeenth in MVC history for most career awards.

The Redbirds have achieved six top-three finishes out of seven events this season. The team boasts individuals with a total of 54 rounds at or under par—nearly twenty more than any previous single-season school record—and maintains a team scoring average of 289.1 that is set to break their past record of 297.4.

Illinois State University will next compete on Friday, March 14, when they travel to Sedona, Arizona for the Red Rocks Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona University.
