The Illinois Wesleyan University baseball team is preparing for a three-game series against Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. The games are scheduled for March 1-2 at Kelly Field. The Titans will face the Bears in a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on Sunday.

Recently, the Titans concluded a weekend with two wins and one loss. They played a doubleheader against Grinnell College, winning the first game 16-5 but losing the second 12-4. They recovered with a 10-4 victory over Greenville University.

Junior Jack Flagg from River Forest hit the team's first home run of the season during his initial at-bat. Senior Justin Gadomski from Schaumburg also achieved his first home run later in that game. The team set a new record by hitting 11 doubles in their game against Grinnell. Senior Brady Hartman from Milan secured his first win as pitcher this season.

In their third game, IWU defeated Greenville with a score of 10-4, scoring all runs within the first five innings. Junior Jake Pullam from Palatine recorded his first win of the season as pitcher.

IWU and WashU have competed since 1990, with IWU leading their series record at 34-32. Last season, IWU won two out of three games against WashU. Dalen Banks secured a win while Gadomski homered in their March 2, 2024 doubleheader sweep, where they won both games before WashU claimed victory in the final match.

Game times are set for Saturday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., followed by Sunday's game at noon. Live stats and streaming are available on IWUsports.com under the baseball schedule page.
