Illinois State University's swim and dive team concluded the third day of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships with notable achievements, including 10 personal bests, 18 lifetime bests, and a new school record.
Mia Snow was a standout performer, earning a silver medal and setting a new school record in the 100-fly event during the A-Final with a time of 52.81 seconds. Eva Reyes also performed well on the diving boards, securing second place in preliminaries to advance to the 3-meter diving championships scheduled for tomorrow.
The competition saw several swimmers achieving lifetime bests. Among them were Mia Snow in both the preliminary and final rounds of the 100 fly and the 50 free; Giulia Basco and Ella Turken in the 100 fly; Adi Luker and Ines Kieffel in the 200 free; Delaney Boulden in both rounds of the 100 back; Hailey Fris in the 100 back; Isabel Poggenklass in the 3-meter diving; Lauren Wisdom in the 400 IM; Amelia Murphy and Sylvia Admire in the 200 free; Sydney Hoff and Hailey Fris again in the 100 back.
In addition to these lifetime records, season bests were recorded by Hope Westphal in the 400 IM and Cassidy Carey in the 100 back.
After three days of competition, Southern Illinois leads with a score of 913.5 points, followed by Indiana State at 903.5 points, and Missouri State at third with 689 points. Illinois State stands seventh with a total of 468.5 points.
The fourth day of events is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. with preliminaries for various swimming categories including backstroke, freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, along with finals set for later that evening.
