Illinois State women's tennis team prepares for match against Eastern Illinois

The Illinois State women's tennis team is set to face the Eastern Illinois Panthers on Sunday, March 2, at the Evergreen Racquet Club. The Redbirds, with a current record of 5-4, previously met the Panthers at the EIU Invite on October 20, where they secured a victory in doubles play. Freshman Emma Lindh and Nicole Iosio achieved a narrow win over Eastern Illinois' Fay and Lomenzo with a score of 7-5.

In their most recent outing, the Redbirds defeated Radford University 4-1 on February 22 at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center. In doubles matches, Lindh paired with graduate student Elena Jankulovska to win 6-0, while junior Nuria Sanz and freshman Nicole Iosio triumphed over Radford's Stephens and Murphy with a score of 6-2.

Eastern Illinois has struggled this season with a record of 2-9. They were recently defeated by Western Michigan on February 23. Their top doubles pair consists of Aleyla Wooten and Michelle Kostadinova.

Following their match against Eastern Illinois, Illinois State will travel to Edwardsville for a match against SIUE on March 9. They will then head to California for matches against Utah State and UC-Irvine.
