The Illinois State Basketball Coaches Show, sponsored by The O'Brien Auto Team, will be broadcast live from Avanti's in Normal tonight. The event features Illinois State head men's basketball coach Ryan Pedon and women's basketball head coach Kristen Gillespie.
Avanti's offers a 20% discount to those with an Illinois State student ID for the show. Additionally, the Redbird men's basketball team is set to appear at the restaurant during the event.
For fans unable to attend in person, the show can be accessed on WJBC 1230 AM, the Varsity Network, and GoRedbirds.com. During the show, Pedon and Gillespie will discuss their recent games and upcoming matchups.
Kristen Gillespie's segment begins at 6 p.m., hosted by Greg Halbleib. She will be joined by senior guards Maya Wong and Lauren Cohen. Wong has participated in all 29 games this season, averaging 8.3 points and leading with 127 assists. Cohen has played in 22 games with three starts.
The women's team (19-10) recently secured wins against UIC and Valparaiso Beacons. Elyse Knudsen scored a game-high 24 points against Valpo. Their regular season concludes with away games against Missouri State on March 6 and Southern Illinois on March 8.
Ryan Pedon's segment follows at 6:45 p.m., hosted by John Fitzgerald and Mike Matthews, featuring senior guard Dalton Banks. Banks has played in all 31 games this season, averaging 9.9 points per game and tying for eighth-most steals in school history with 55.
The men's team (18-13) split their recent games but won against Evansville on senior day with Banks scoring a team-high of 13 points. They start their postseason against Missouri State Bears on Thursday afternoon at Enterprise Center.

The coaches' show occurs weekly, except when affected by game or travel schedules, with another session scheduled next Monday at Rob Dob's in Bloomington.
