Illinois State concludes tournament with loss to Central Arkansas

Illinois State faced Central Arkansas for the third consecutive day at the Milisa Moore/Shane Lamb Tournament on Sunday. The Redbirds concluded their five-game weekend with a 7-0 loss to the Bears at Farris Field.

Central Arkansas took an early lead in the first inning with a three-run home run by Mya January. They extended their advantage to 5-0 in the fourth inning through two RBI singles. The Bears added two more runs in the sixth inning, finalizing the score at 7-0. Illinois State managed only five hits during the game.

Abby Knight contributed offensively for Illinois State, going 2-for-3, while Bella Atkinson went 1-for-3 with a double. On the mound, Hannah Meshnick pitched four innings, allowing seven hits and five earned runs, and Gracelyn Kemp pitched two innings, giving up one hit and two earned runs.

The Redbirds will face Illinois in Champaign on Wednesday before starting Missouri Valley Conference play against Southern Illinois in Carbondale on Friday.
