The Illinois State men's golf team is set to participate in the 40th annual Louisiana Classics tournament in Lafayette, Louisiana. The event will take place at Oakbourne Country Club on March 10-11.
The competition will feature several teams ranked by Clippd National Rankings, including LSU (7), Texas A&M (24), and Little Rock (38). Illinois State holds a ranking of 148 going into the tournament.
Illinois State's lineup includes TJ Barger, Alex McCulla, Will Troy, Max Faucquez, and Pietro Pontiggia. Francis Bautista will compete as an individual. The tournament follows a shotgun start format beginning at 9 a.m. Central Time.
Oakbourne Country Club has been a notable venue since its establishment in 1955. It offers an 18-hole championship course known for its mature oak trees and water hazards. The club has historical significance as it was home to PGA Champions Lionel and Jay Hebert, who are celebrated within the clubhouse's Hebert Room.
