The Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) has recognized four athletes from Illinois State University with various honors. The announcement was made on Wednesday, highlighting the achievements of Shannon Dowell, Elyce Knudsen, Addison Martin, and Doneelah Washington.
Shannon Dowell earned a spot on the All-MVC Second Team. She ranked fifth in the league with an average of 16.9 points per game against MVC opponents. Dowell also recorded 6.4 rebounds per game and 2.6 assists per game, shooting 48.7% from the floor during conference play. Her performance included 16 games scoring in double figures and seven games with over 20 points, peaking at a career-high of 28 points against Murray State on December 29.
Elyce Knudsen was named to the MVC Newcomer team after averaging 14 points per game on a shooting percentage of 45.5% from the floor and 43.4% from beyond the arc during conference matches. She led all newcomers in three-pointers made with a total of 53 during MVC play and secured five MVC Newcomer of the Week awards throughout the season.
Addison Martin topped the league with a shooting accuracy of 58.7% in MVC play and reached double figures in scoring for thirteen league games, averaging 12.3 points per game along with contributions in rebounds and assists.
Doneelah Washington joined her teammates by earning a place on the MVC Freshman Team under head coach Kristen Gillespie's guidance. Washington led all freshmen in blocks within conference play and achieved her first double-double against Indiana State on January 2.
