Illinois Wesleyan athletes earn five USTFCCCA indoor all-region honors

The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams have earned five United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor All-Region honors. The organization announced the honorees on Wednesday, March 12.

To qualify for the award, athletes must rank in their region's top-five in an event or be part of a top-three ranked relay team.

Junior Evan Lowder from Bloomington, Illinois secured all-region recognition in two events. He holds the top mark in the 400m in the Midwest Region with a time of 48.04 seconds and posted the fourth-fastest 200m time in the region at 21.95 seconds. His 400m time ranks fifth nationally.

Sophomore Imani Ogunribido from Hanover Park, Illinois received all-region honors for her performance in the women's triple jump with a mark of 12.28 meters, which is second-best in her region and ranks fifth in Division III this season.

Freshman Nick Walker from Metamora, Illinois achieved his first all-region nod in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.05 meters, placing him third in the Midwest Region and tied for 12th nationally.

Sophomore Matt Lindberg from Springfield, Illinois also made it to the all-region list for high jump with a mark of 2.04 meters, ranking fourth regionally just behind Walker.

Lowder, Ogunribido, Walker, along with senior Carlyssa King from Decatur, Illinois will represent Illinois Wesleyan University at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships taking place in Rochester, New York on March 14-15.
